Hope you guys are doing well and chelating well. If not, continue reading. I know managing thalassaemia is a mess. It takes a lot of effort, in fact continuous effort, it's tiring sometimes but there are some questions you need to remind yourself continuously. How badly do you want it? How much are you ready to work for it? How much are you willing to suffer for it? How much pain can you sustain? Answer to some of these questions decide how you shape your life, career, health, relationships.. everything. You have to give to get. For example, if you can't put up with the pain of preparing for a marathon, you can't do it after day one itself. You have to prepare yourself for the challenges that comes with the mix. We all know that in chelation, it gets harder. Most days you have to remind yourself why you started this, how some things are bigger than you. Even if you find yourself pushing walls or running against the current, it's how much can you sustain that decides how badly you want it. Not that how much you can suffer but the pain and efforts you are ready to put in. What you are ready to give up for what matters makes all the difference in life. You can't just want the reward and not love the process. Wanting the end result and not willing to go through the dirt, the grind. Wanting is not enough, wanting to put up with a certain struggle willingly and loving that process as much as the end result is. Being a thal or non thal was never an option for us but being a maintained one is always in our hands. Giving up is always an easy option for anybody but it's always hard to struggle. Keep the struggle going. And love that struggle. Keep reminding yourself and keep reinventing yourself. Don't forget to love the process. Don't forget to chelate.- Nitya Gupta
