what is the phenotype blood transfusion? and what are its benefits?

Phenotype transfusions are necessary to match blood on a highly specific (molecular) level, beyond antibody testing. The regular way of matching blood for someone who isn't chronically transfused is not as highly specific. Match by phenotype is necessary because thals are petri dishes of microbes from all the donations we receive.
